I get a kick out of bargain-shopping - always have. It is sort of like a sport, ya know, and I certain ly have made it so. My Mom and I used to have full-day shopping sprees where we would limit ourselves to not spending more than $10 on any one item all day. It was so much fun to see who could get the best deal. I recently found an amazing steal. At Marshall's in Doylestown, I swiped up a pair of Roxy rain-type boots for $7! And, I bought Mark a pair of Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars Low in tan for $7 as well! It was the only pair on the clearance shelf, and it just so happened to be his size. Who woulda thunk it? (I also found some other fantastic deals for the house, Loren's shower, etc. - but more on that later).

Overhwhelm me....I whelcome it!!!!
I finally realize why I haven't yet gotten myself completely immersed in the artistic culture that is scrap-booking. It is utterly and insanely involved. There is a limitless amount of materials out there to choose from - not to mention endless ideas and layouts. The control freak/perfectionist in me would keep me from ever being satisfied with my finished product. I came to this conclusion recently because I am in the process of organizing my BFF's bridal shower. I was asked to be the Matron-of-Honor, and I could not be more thrilled. I have received numerous remarks about my unrelenting enthusiasm that have really kept me encouraged that I could do a great job. But, the insane industry that is wedding and shower planning is enough to send me over the edge. I am not Type-A from head to toe: I am a little of column A and a little of column B, literally! But in this respect, I fit the profile. According to Wikipedia.com's article on Type A & B personalities, "They are often high achieving workaholics who multi-task, drive themselves with deadlines, and are unhappy about the smallest of delays." That describes me in all of my Matron-of-Honorness. So, combine that informal diagnosis with infinite shower options to choose from, and you have many decisions to be made! I have managed to narrow the field down to a theme - "Preppy Chic." Think argyle, monogramming, and cherry blossoms. Sorta like a romantic afternoon at a country club, tee hee. I challenge you to leave me comments about all things "Preppy Chic"-oriented that you happen to come across. Very soon, I will start to update this blog with finalized ideas. Check back soon!
